SAFEGUARDING

What is Safeguarding?

We aim to be a church where all our activities are safe spaces for the flourishing of all.

‘Safeguarding’ means that we take steps to promote a safer culture and environment for all. In particular, our church is committed to safeguarding all children, young people and vulnerable adults, and to protect and keep them safe from harm.

Policies

Our Church is committed to the safer recruitment of both volunteers and paid workers, including the use of the Disclosure and Barring Service where appropriate, in accordance with the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance.

Contacts

The care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in church activities is the responsibility of the whole church community. Everyone should feel able to challenge or come forward if something appears to be wrong. Anyone who has a concern should report it by contacting one of our designated Safeguarding Officers or speaking to the Churchwarden.
